I have always been a Star Wars fan since first watching Episode I: The Phantom Menace when I was 6 years old.
Like most, I wanted a lightsaber just like those in the movies and began collecting the commonly found Hasbro or Master Replicas models from a young age - The first being Darth Vaders lightsaber for Episode IV: A New Hope.
FINDING ALL THE SABERS WAS MY END GOAL
However, there were many lightsabers I admired that were unavailable. I had a goal to own every characters lightsaber from the movies. No matter what it takes.
On a hunt to find a saber inspired by that of Qui-Gon Jinn, I discovered the custom lightsaber community. A small forum of like-minded individuals exploring this niche and sharing their projects and ideas. I had seen amazing pieces of art and creation and became fixated on building my own.
START OF MY JOURNEY
BUILT MY FIRST SABER
After doing much research and receiving a lot help from the community, I built my first lightsaber in October 2013. Built on the kitchen table with my Dad, we had accomplished something I could never of even dreamed of.
From that day on I had set myself the challenge to build every the every lightsaber seen on-screen in the Skywalker Saga, sharing my journey along the way online.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES...
SHARING MY WORK ONLINE
Through sharing my work, I would receive a high amount of interest and support from other fans out there who were just like me.
It was at this point I decided to start working on sabers full time and established KR Sabers. I now am able to offer my services and skills to other Star Wars fans around the world for them to have as much joy as I did with my first lightsaber.
If it wasn’t for fans of my work and many of those in the community, I would not be where I am today. So I have them to thank. I will continue to spread the word about the lightsaber community to enthusiasts and encourage any Jedi (or Sith) to have their own saber!
